Colonial Life Co-sponsors 2014 National Small Business Week
May 12-16
Colonial Life has partnered with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to be the exclusive insurance industry co-sponsor of National Small Business Week activities taking place this week across the country. This effort supports and promotes the 28 million small businesses that drive America’s economy.
Small Business Week takes place May 12 through 16 in San Francisco; Kansas City, Mo.; Boston; and Washington, D.C. The cross-country event is designed to engage the small business community and highlight the importance of small businesses as innovators and job creators. Small businesses create two out of every three new jobs, and half of America’s workers own or work for a small business, according to the Small Business Administration. Thousands of people are expected to attend live and online events, including forums and panels, networking events, trade shows and webinars.
“Small employers are big business for the U.S. economy,” says Gil Youmans, director, Small Market Solutions for Colonial Life. “Providing benefits solutions for small businesses to help them grow and be more competitive has been an important focus for us for the past 75 years. We look forward to sharing some of what we’ve learned to help other businesses succeed.”
