• More than $630 billion for the fiscal year 2014 Defense appropriations just passed by Congress, including $22 billion added to offset the effects of sequestration
• More than $100 billion for fiscal year 2014 procurement of equipment and weapons

The NAVY CONTRACTING SUMMIT will be held in Norfolk, Virginia – home to Naval Station Norfolk, the world’s largest naval station, supporting 75 ships and 134 aircraft alongside 14 piers and 11 aircraft hangars. The base houses the largest concentration of U.S. Navy forces. Air Operations conducts an average of 275 flights per day or one every six minutes. It is the hub for Navy logistics going to the European and Central Command theaters of operations, and to the Caribbean. Naval Station Norfolk supports the operational readiness of the US Atlantic Fleet, providing facilities and services to enable mission accomplishment.

Last month, more than 250 military, government, and business leaders registered for the American Energy Summit, which featured key presentations from the Army’s Deputy Assistant Secretary and from the Director of Operations for the Assistant Secretary of Defense. More than 300 leaders participated in December’s Army Contracting Summit in Huntsville, Ala. The Summit Keynote Address was given by Congressman Mo Brooks, a Member of the House Armed Services Committee.
